Autumn film festival on human trafficking to forced labour

Published 23.08.2013

On Saturday 7th September 2013 the autumn film festival on human trafficking to forced labour is going to start in the Southern Poland. The purpose of the event is to present the practice of this crime as a contemporary form of slavery through the film medium. Meetings, discussions and movie shows are predicted to shape young people’s awareness on this issues.

The event is dedicated not only to students, but also to adults, teachers, parents and actually everyone who is sensitized to the things that happen around. During 7-day review, 3 feature movies touching upon the subject of human trafficking will be screened in four cities: Nowy Sącz, Kraków, Częstochowa and Dąbrowa Górnicza. All of them were shown also during the first edition of the International Film Festival on Human Trafficking “18/18” organized last year in Warsaw. This year, the selected movies concentrate exclusively on the exploitation human beings to forced labour and services. They all examine this phenomenon from different perspectives and in different ways.

Taking into account the educational nature of the review and the fact that it aims at rising social awareness, the film screenings and additional events are free of charge.
